The pre-owned furniture comprise of 214 items being; boardroom table, office chairs and desks, office credenzas and meeting room table and the beneficiary will be the Department of Tribal Administration.
Speaking during the handover ceremony on Thursday, BIFM chief executive officer, Ms Neo Bogatsu, said following completion of the refurbishment of their offices early this year, they could not just discard the furniture.
She said through their existence of over 40 years they pride themselves in being the key contributor to the development and growth of the nation through contributing one per cent of their profits to the BIHL trust, through which a number of initiatives are done.
Ms Bogatsu noted that sustainability remains an integral part of the BIFM culture, with the business working to make sustainable progress real through projects across the spectrum of impact. When accepting the furniture Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms. Botlogile Tshireletso, said as government they value support from other sectors of the economy, especially the private sector, whether big or small.
“What we are seeing here today is a demonstration of the spirit of sharing by the BIFM.
Through the spirit you pass on what you may not need to others who are certainly in need,” she said.
Ms Tshireletso further said the donation is a gesture of good faith most important, it shows the spirit of community, whereby BIFM reach out to their neighbour and offer what they may need.
“These are simple human truths and values that should be practised by everyone so that they are further instilled in the upcoming generations,” she said. ENDS
