Good work ethic key

28 Aug 2016

There is need to treat fellow workers and customers alike as special, practice swiftness, humility and value customer feedback to remain relevant, says Mr Acro Maseko.

Mr Maseko, who is education director for South region, made the remarks last Friday at the Ngwaketse Landboard performance awards ceremony themed Fifty Years of Service to the Nation; United and Proud.

He said therefore, Ngwaketse Landboard annual efforts to award staff and board members, was a step in the right direction and an excellent way to promote organisational values and strategic agenda.

“The Botswana government has set a performance agenda for all to rally behind and deliver in the interest of prosperity for all,” he said.

As such, Mr Maseko called on all stakeholders, in particular, government ministries to forge ahead in their relentless pursuit for service delivery and in the process attain corrupt free environment, create jobs and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and income generation, ensure land and housing ownership and many others.

Good work ethic, he underscored, were therefore key to realising organisational goals and strategies.

Thus, he commended recipients of various awards for their commitment to duty and selflessness to serve the nation.

“I also believe the awards are an inspiration to the rest of us to work even harder towards attainment of our set goals,” he said saying the same goes to other employees who did not necessarily make the grade on the night.

Ngwaketse Landboard chairman, Mr Marks Mophuting was content with organisational transformation the board had realised in the last four years, something he attributed to unparalleled commitment by the board and staff.

“In spite of a number of challenges that we have had to face we are a bunch of people who are not only committed to duty but are aware of the path we want to undertake,” Mr Mophuting said.

For his part, Mr Kruger Balosang, Ngwaketse landboard board member, echoed Mr Mophuting’s sentiments, saying the ceremony testified to the good work put in by both board members and staff.

He therefore challenged everybody to come to the fore and aim for the stars next year. ENDS
