Donate out of love

Coordinator for President's Housing Appeal Col Duke Masilo says churches and other organisations should not only donate to gain mileage but do so from genuine love.
Speaking during the handing over of President's Housing Appeal house number 626 by New Apostolic Church in Zion, Serowe, Col Masilo called on churches to donate out of love.
He also challenged other churches to emulate New Apostolic Church in Zion in donating to those in dire need of shelter.
Col Masilo commended New Apostolic Church in Zion's youth for spearheading idea of building a house to one of their own members. He said that it was encouraging to have youth in the so called mainstream churches since recent trend show that youth have jumped ship to churches that preach prosperity.
He also appealed to some churches to desist against making huge amounts of money at the expense of preaching the word of God to the congregants.
“In some churches , I am told that people tithes heavily in a bid to buy prosperity or breakthroughs,” said Col Masilo.
Col Masilo expressed gratitude at the churches which continue to heed the President's appeal to house the needy. He said that from time immemorial churches have been doing charitable and voluntary works towards their people.
Speaking during the handing over of the house built by the youth of his church, archbishop Matlhake said that his church survived on meager contributions from members nonetheless. He called the donation a 'little effort' with the hope of contributing more towards national development in future.
He said that they prioritized donating to a church member before any other potential beneficiary. Ends
