Builders World donates blankets to elderly

22 Aug 2016

Builders World has donated 133 blankets to the needy and elderly people in Palapye.

Donating the blankets at Palapye Kgotla on August 17, Builders World human resource manager, Ms Ellen Nzwaligwa said the company has found it fit to restore dignity of the less fortunate people by making a difference in their lives.

She said government alone cannot afford to adequately provide for the needy and the vulnerable people, hence involvement of the community is required to help improve those people’s lives.

She appealed to Batswana and other companies to follow suit and help the less privileged members of society.

She said Builders World Palapye’s donation will assist government’s effort intended to realise the country’s Vision 2016 pillar of ‘a compassionate, just and caring nation’.

Ms Nzwaligwa said a deed of donating blankets to the needy can strengthen the cooperation between various companies and government.

She said donating blankets to the needy is a deed of Builders World passion, adding that last year Builders World donated some blankets at hospitals.

She said the company so far has donated 3 000 blankets countrywide meeting the needs of people in different regions across the country. She said they will keep the same spirit of giving to the needy wherever they can.

Accepting the donation, Palapye Administration Authority chairperson, Mr Lesedi Phuthego said government has given councils a huge responsibility of taking care of the needy to ensure that they are clothed and fed in order to restore their dignity.

Mr Phuthego commended President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama for introducing and setting a living example by giving the needy and elderly people support.

He said donating for charity “is a blessing’ encouraging all to follow suite.  Ends
