Trust receives donations

 The President’s Charitable Trust on August 17, received donations of chairs, blankets, Bibles and cash from several organisations.

Botswana Biker Society donated P100 000, Al Nur School contributed 386 blankets, Kwa Nokeng Oil donated 100 Bibles and 100 chairs while C Track pledged to assist Tlamelong centre and Cheshire Foundation.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Mogomotsi Kaboeamodimo said the trust appreciated donations because they would improve the welfare of those in need.

He said to date, the trust had raised P3 million, which had been distributed to different institutions.

Mr Kaboeamodimo stated that the trust had established linkages with local and international entities who had contributed immensely towards social uplifting of the needy.

Al-Nur representative Ms Manas Cassim said the blankets donated were worth P40 000, which was raised by the students.

She noted that the school wanted to contribute to the President’s call to give those in need, adding that this was not the first time to donate blankets.

Botswana Biker Society chairman, Mr Bertus De Klerk said they had been partnering for the President’s trust for some time now having donated money in past.

He stated that every year, they upped their cash prize donation, adding that there would be riding for charity later this year.

Kwa Nokeng Oil corporate and public relations officer, Ms Phasi Moremi stated that they were proud to make the donation, which she said would go a long way in changing people’s lives.

She said the donation was part of their corporate social responsibility initiative as a citizen owned company that aimed to uplift society.

C Track sales manager, Mr Frank Motlokwa indicated that they had in the past worked with different organisations that needed some form of assistance.

He said they had donated equipment and furniture to Tlamelong Centre and Cheshire Foundation, adding that the company continued to work closely with these oraganisations. ENDS
