Thapong exhibits

With the year winding down and art exhibitions coming thick and fast at Thapong Visual Arts Centre, the renowned arts centre will host yet another art exhibition on August 23.

Speaking in an interview, coordinator of the centre Reginald Bakwena said this would be a tributary art exhibition featuring two artists.

“Sheperd Ndudzo and Onalenna Motaung will be the two artists showcasing their work and I want to urge art lovers to come support our very own artists,” he said.

He indicated that it has been a good year so far regarding exhibitions that have taken place.

“It seems our artists are now beyond that threshold of producing very excellent art pieces consistently and that should be applauded,” said Bakwena.

Bakwena further said artists need to be professional all the time and original.

“Originality is the key for every artist to make a mark with their work and get the respect and admiration their work deserves,” said Bakwena, adding that the art industry has seen significant growth over the years.

He noted that it is encouraging to see more women in the art industry and the youth. ENDS
