Masisi pledges 22 cattle
16 Aug 2016
The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi, has pledged 22 cattle to be slaughtered during independence celebrations in his Moshupa-Manyana constituency.
He also promised sweets that would be distributed to children in Moshupa Sub-district.
Mr Masisi made the pledge during a meeting he had with village extension teams and village development committees.
Mr Masisi said his intention was to thank God for the country’s 50 years of independence and to show appreciation of residents’ support.
However, he implored the residents to celebrate responsibly.
On other issues, he assured the committees that the 70 bed hospital that was earmarked for Moshupa was still in the pipeline.
He said the water situation in the village would first have to be sorted out before the project could take off.
Mr Masisi, however, told members who had requested for a stadium to be built in the village that it would not get priority over the hospital. He further encouraged village development committees to give public officers priority when allocating accommodation.
Mr Masisi encouraged the committees to prosecute tenants who defaulted on rentals.
The VP urged officers to advise accordingly so that rentals could correspond with the market value.
Meanwhile, Ralekgetho ward councillor, Mr Gofentseone Rakala, said Mr Masisi’s gesture was inspired by love.
He encouraged councillors and all the service providers in the constituency to emulate Mr Masisi’s unfailing love and spirit of community service. ENDS
