Teach old people technology-Binns
16 Aug 2016
The managing director of Hotwire PRC Mr Kabelo Binns has encouraged youth to teach elderly people in bsuiness how to use technology in order to increase their market share.
Speaking at a workshop hosted by Botho University eLab, on the importance of market research and brand positioning on August 12, Mr Binns said the idea that old people do not uptake ICT is wrong stating that the elderly also like technology as they use their cellphones to send and receive messages and payments.
Mr Binns stated that the only thing hindering them from fully utilising ICT is just a literacy issue and the youth should take it as a challenge to teach the elderly, as part of their target market, how to use technology like Facebook and tweeter as this will in the long run benefit their businesses which are already marketed on social media.
Mr Binns further said ICT can be used to help one’s business remain on top as well as create best products and monitor progress.
He implored the youth to stick to their values and not be derailed by obstacles and challenges.
“Be focused, stick to what you started with, it is your brand, your reputation, what you are known for. It is in you as you are young and inquisitive, be bold and great and mighty forces will come to you,” Mr Binns said. ENDS
