15 Aug 2016

Parliament was informed that there are 17 secondary school teachers in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane constituency who have not been paid their invigilation allowance up to date.
Answering a question in Parliament, the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development Mr Moiseraele Goya said in addition, another batch of 12 primary school teachers who invigilated the Standard Four attainment tests and another set of 16 Primary School teachers who invigilated the Primary  School Leaving Examinations have not been paid as well.
He stated that the delays have affected 22 per cent of applicants and have arisen due to a number of factors which include the late submission of claim forms, inaccuracies in the information submitted by the teachers and in some cases delays were caused by the processing of forms.
Mr Goya however mentioned that payment for the 17 Secondary School teachers had already been processed and submitted to the Accountant General for payment this month.
For the remaining primary school teachers she said they would be paid their pending allowance by the end of September 2016.
He however acknowledged the inconvenience caused to the affected teachers.
In addition, Mr Goya also mentioned that 52 Primary School teachers took part in attainment tests, adding that only 40 have been paid.
He also stated that 80 teachers invigilated the Primary School Leaving Examinations and 64 teachers were paid.
