Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health, Ms Shenaaz El Halabi has encouraged the executive management in her ministry to always be ready to address issues pertaining to health and report incidents on time.

Speaking at the ministerial quality performance improvement meeting on Tuesday in Francistown, she said it was important for the heads of the department to be accountable of the performance and delivery of their juniors in order to continue with good service to clients.

She added that being accountable would help them to assess the needs and challenges of their respective departments to enhance their productivity and delivery of services.

“Issues such as drug availability, which has raised a serious concern in different district health posts should be addressed in time, also promotions and assessments, should be done in a fair manner to prevent poor service delivery,” she said.

Furthermore, she urged them to work as a team and have a good relationship with their juniors . Ends
