De la Blache hails French teachers

The Ambassador of France to Botswana, Ms Anne De la Blache, has commended 16 teachers for their hard work in acquiring new skills in French language.
“I would like to congratulate each of you individually for all your hard work and efforts to acquire new skills in a foreign language, teaching while training which is not easy,” she said.
Ms De la Blache said this at the graduation ceremony in which French secondary education teachers were awarded diploma of studies in French language, an event which was held at the embassy. She said the diploma was awarded by the French Ministry of Education, adding that it was recognised in the whole world and allowed student of a B2 level or above, to apply to a french university or to most of French – speaking universities.
“You have successfully passed the DELF exam. This success not only proves your excellent skills in French language but will also, through your own example, foster a spirit of emulation among your students and help them chart the best way forward,” she said.
Ms De la Blache also commended Ministry of Educations and Skills Development and University of Botswana for being the key players in the teaching of French Language in Botswana.
“Today’s success is also yours to celebrate. It pays tribute to your ambition and dedication as well as your continuing interest and love for France, its culture and its values, so similar to those of Botswana.ENDS
