Khama decorates officers

President Lt. Gen Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama has awarded medals to 512 Botswana Police Service (BPS) officers who have offered distinguished service over the years.

The occasion, held as part of the BPS 132nd anniversary celebrations at the Special Support Group in Gaborone last Friday, saw President Khama and Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi bestowing senior assistant commissioner  Mr Solomon Mantswe and assistant commissioner Mr Katlholo Mosimanegape the Botswana Police Medal for meritorious service and other medals. 

Other awardees included assistant commissioner Mokuedi Mphathi and senior superintendent Sergeant Marapo who were awarded with the Distinguished Service Order for having been exemplary in their devotion to duty and 30 years of service. 

The Jubilee Service Award for those who have displayed good conduct and character over 25 years of service was also awarded to officers, among them senior superintendents Near Bagali and George Bontseng.

The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was bestowed on officers, including Inspectors Keemetswe Mosinyi and Gaone Mlilo. ENDS
