 The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi says spirituality is an important element in the construct of a responsible citizen.

Mr Masisi said this at the Thapelong Catholic Church Gentlemen Strong Tea fund raising event for the priestly ordination Kanye’s own son, Father Tshiamo Makaba. He will become the first Mongwaketse Catholic priest in Kanye.

He said government is concerned about the moral erosion in the country, hence the appointment of Puso Commission to advice on how to address the challenge.

Mr Masisi said priests play an important role in moulding the nation through the word of God. He appreciated Kanye Catholic Church for the effort they made to install a Motswana priest in Kanye which is not common.

He urged them to respect him after the ordination. He said they are happy to have a Motswana priest heading their church which he said shows good performance and love to other people. He encouraged men to contribute money and cows with their love and passion to the ordination.

Mr Masisi, who is also Member of Parliament for Moshupa/Manyana, added that it is good and procedural to prepare for the day of ordination as early as possible . 

For his part, Kgosi Goboletswe Ketsitlile promised that men will contribute goats and beast towards the event because the church shows development in Kanye. He said Batswana have long been practising self-reliance spirit and encouraged them to keep it. ENDS
