Orange Botswana launches site

Orange Botswana regional manager-north, Mr Ephraim Tlogelang has stated that the mobile service provider is committed to providing residents with cheap communication service.

Mr Tlogelang made the remark during the occasion to mark the launch of a site at Motlhabaneng last week.

He said the operator wanted the telecommunication services to be accessible to every citizen.

He said the network tower would make people lives much easier as they would enjoy a variety of services such as Orange Money which was flexible and allows people to pay for bills as well as to use prepaid services to buy electricity.

The commissioning of the tower, he said would also help grow business especially to hawkers that sell services that include airtime and sim-cards.

Mr Tlogelang commended the residents and the village leadership for their concerted efforts during the setting up of the network tower.

He advised residents to always inform them whenever they experience technical problems pertaining to network disruptions.

Another speaker, Mr Oteng Serumola, sales and animation coordinator advised residents to guard against vandalism as it cost a lot of money to repair and contributes to network disruptions.

Mr Serumola informed residents to report such incidents to police and to the company whenever they suspect any wrong doing.

Kgosi Bethuel Machete of Motlhabaneng hailed Orange Botswana for bringing network coverage in their area saying his village was the only one without network reception in the Bobirwa Sub district.

Kgosi Machete stated that life had been difficult since the area faced many challenge since it was in the proximity of dangerous animals adding that they would also be able to communicate with the rest of the world.

Telecommunication, he said was a necessity and the presence of the network would enable those conducting research to have access to internet and other communication tools.

However, he appealed to Orange to buy them equipment such as fax machine, computers and photocopiers for the kgotla . The company also donated P1 500 to Ms Aniki Modeme to set up a business that provides Orange money, sells sim cards and airtime. ENDS
