Mochudi police investigate murder case

Police in Mochudi are investigating an incident in which a young man of 29 years of Mmapole ward at Boseja is in police custody in connection to the murdered of a 53 year old man on July 30 in Mochudi.
In an interview with BOPA, Assistant Superintendent Wadzha Zambezi of Mochudi police said the incident was reported to them on Saturday upon which they rushed to the place where they found the victim with serious injuries.
He said their investigations have revealed that the two had a misunderstanding adding that the suspect is said to have hit the victim with a blant object during their quarrel. He noted that the victim was rushed to Deborah Retief Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival adding that the suspect is in police custody to assist police with investigations.
Assist Spt Zambezi said the deceased was a step father to the suspect, noting that they have already recorded seven murder cases in the district since January up to date.
In another incident, the police chief said two cars collided along A1 road near Masama on Saturday.
He said an Audi which was coming from north had three passengers including the driver adding that a Toyota corolla which was from south heading to the north had only one person being the driver.
Assistant Supt Zambezi said even though they are still investigating, the two cars collided and both the passengers and the drivers were injured noting that they were both rushed to Deborah Retief Memorial hospital where the driver of 43 years old, a girl of 9 years and a 11 year old girl from the Audi car were treated for minor injuries and released.
He said the 51 year old driver of a Toyota corolla was certified dead upon arrival at the hospital adding that the deceased is from Bobonong.
Assistant Supt Zambezi said they are investigating an incident in which an 18 month child was rushed to Kopong clinic on 30th July after he was hit by something leading to his death at Phoredi farms by the lover of her mother who is a Zimbabwean.
He said the child was certified dead and they are still looking for the culprit who fled the scene after the incident and he appeal edto the public to assist them make arrest. ENDS
