Seretse commends award winners

The Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Vincent Seretse, has commended employees under his ministry for the spirit of volunteerism, team work and devotion towards achieving excellence.
“The purpose of this appreciation ceremony is to celebrate volunteerism, team work, dedication, perseverance and indeed excellence of those who took part in the public service activities”, he said.
Mr Seretse presented certificates to all those who won awards aduring the public service day activities.
“The public service is celebrating 50 years of service to the nation, hence the year’s theme: Fifty Years of Service to the Nation, United and Proud”, he said.
Mr Seretse said his ministry won medals in poetry where they attained a gold medal, skipping robe, athletics and needle race.
“Team MITI took part in other categories such as standard song and lerabi and obtained position four at the final competitions for the standard song. We also took part in Mmino wa dikhwaere, a category introduced in this year to celebrate our culture as a nation and we qualified for the final competitions”, he said.
He admired Team MITI for the participation in the Public Service Pageant as both Mr and Miss MITI managed to proceed to the top ten finalist’s stage, adding that it was clear that there was potential which needed to the nurtured.
One of the recipients, poet Ms Kebonye Bareeng, a procurement officer, acknowledged having been accorded a platform to develop and cultivate her talent.
“I was lucky to have identified my talent in this programme. I have previously entered in My African Dream competitions in 2007 and also the presidential regional competitions, which has also helped enhance my skills.
I managed to earn position 1 in the public service day competitions, and as such I am proud to have gone so far,” she said. ENDS
