International students to exhibit at Thapong

Botswana artists studying abroad are set to hold a visual arts exhibition at Thapong Visual Art Centre on August 5.

Speaking in an interview, coordinator of Thapong Visual Art Centre, Reginald Bakwena said it was one of the many Thapong exhibitions aimed at showcasing the talent that Botswana has.

Bakwena indicated that some of the art categories that would be represented were drawing, painting, animation, video, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design and photography.

“Some of the artists that will showcase are Obed Mokhuhlani, Kutlo Tumedi, Carlos Robert, Othusitse Ketshabang, Souza Malebo, Unami Maigwa, Kesalopa Sehuhula, Selebogo Suping, Danny Moatlhodi, Lettah Mantswe, Kealeboga Bagwasi, Emmanuel Ompatile, Gofaone Kebonyekgosi, Montleemang Boitumelo, Ontwetse Gaotsenelelwe and Oarabile Khudou,” he said.

Bakwena encouraged art lovers to throne Thapong on August 5 to witness the 8pm official opening and support local art. Ends
