The Ngami District Health Management Team (DHMT) will hold Month of Youth Against AIDS commemoration in Maun on July 22.

Speaking at a preparatory meeting recently, Youth Empowerment Committee, Ngami DHMT chairperson, Mr Othusitse Monametsi said the event aimed at sensitising the public on HIV/AIDS related matters such as multi concurrent partners, intergenerational sex, defilement and other issues common in the region.

He said about 50 participants from other districts across the country were expected to participate.

Mr Monametsi said the day would be commemorated under the national day theme of: Zero HIV New Infections and Zero HIV Related Deaths.

He, therefore, said HIV testing diseases screening and blood donation would be part of the activities.

He encouraged other stakeholders to combine efforts to make the day a success.

A bon fire will be held at Botswelelo Primary School on the July 28 evening, while the main event will be held at Letshego open space the following day. Ends
