Roving torch prove of unity

Multitudes thronged Bokaa kgotla to witness arrival of the roving torch, which has been described as a sign of unity among Batswana.

Speaking during the arrival of the roving torch July 22, Kgosi Sue Mosinyi of Bokaa said the torch had brought with it light that could make things easier for them.

He said the torch brought with it hope for the better future and would cement the unity and love which reigns among Batswana. Kgosi Mosinyi said Batswana were known for their love, peace and unity which had stood to be the pillars that laid a strong foundation for this country.

He further said the torch symbolised the achievements that Botswana had managed to attain in the 50 years of independence. He added that going forward Botswana will even achieve greater things when they work together as a nation.

Kgosi Mosinyi implored Batswana to continue holding on to unity and peace which are attributes which makes a great nation excel and prosper.
He said he was proud of the youth in his village as they worked tirelessly together with the elders to prepare for the roving torch arrival.

He added that going forward he believes that as a village they will achieve their set goals especially that they want their village to be well developed with all amenities being provided.
On Saturday the roving torch arrived Morwa village where residents came in large numbers also to be part of the celebrations to receive the torch.

When receiving the torch at his kgotla, Kgosi Masisi Ntshole of Morwa said they are excited for the torch to have come to their village. He said they are very happy and excited for the light to have passed through their village as that marks a milestone in what Botswana have achieved.

Kgosi Ntshole echoed the same sentiments as Kgosi Mosinyi that unity and peace and the ability by Batswana to solve matters through talking.

He further said happiness is part of a nation that prospers therefore when all Batswana are happy and work together for their country to achieve great things that leaves a legacy to be enjoyed by many generations to come.

The roving torch will still move in different villages in Kgatleng and on Sunday it shall be at Pilane, followed by Rasesa and Malotwane.

From the 27-29 the Roving Torch will be in Mochudi with the main event geared for the Main kgotla on the 29th which all Bakgatla are invited to come and celebrate more so it will be combined with the unveiling of the roving torch monument.

The roving torch will depart to Kweneng district on the 30th of July in the morning and it shall be handed over at Kgope. Ends
