Lizibo narrates life story in song

Simon ‘Lizibo’ Mabutho made a remarkable narration of his life at a concert dubbed My Story at Maitisong Hall.

The award winning pop star led an inspirational show, in which he allowed his fans to know more about him as he introduced his mother, grandmother and other relatives.

The 31-year-old singer from Zwenshambe began the show with one of his hit songs Lelengwe Lami, which he learnt it from his grandmother. 

The dance was performed by Mafitlhakgosi.

He went on with the folklore music featuring Mr Tagg in the song: Iyo Iyo Selemela, .

KTM choir, which he sang with in his early years,  flowed from all sides, as he described them as “angels’, dressed in white.

Together they say, Mme Ntshware ke a robega.

The man of style, and unique fashion taste, had fans on their heels, as featured the likes of his favourite Tshepo Lesole who is his producer, whom he also described as a ‘mentor, brother, father and friend’.

“I am so blessed to be around such an incredible person like you. I am privileged to be surrounded with amazing people like you,” he cried, bringing out tears of joy.

Although he terms himself as a cry baby, Lizibo most probably because of the warm heart and much appreciation he displayed towards people surrounding him, mostly his loyal fans as most seemed to have close ties, as they sang along and danced to most of his songs.

“what will my music career tale be without the likes of KTM, Royal Tenors, Mr Tag, Kgotla and his producer Tshepo Lesole;, these people amongst others have been instrumental and inspiring in my career as an artiste and I have got musical nurture and nourishment from them”, he said.

As if that was not enough, Mr Lover-Man, the batchelor brought a storm with his song, Malome mpatlela mosadi as he swiftly moved swiftly in the crowd, selecting one of his allies, Sethunya Maele and bringing her to the stage.

Besides the concert being a narration of his musical journey, tit also showcased how he had developed and as a musician. Ends
