Batswana advocate for developments
20 Jul 2016
Kidz Academy School board chairman, Mr Motswakgakala Sealetsa, says every Motswana must be an advocate of development.
He said this at a donation of food for the less privileged by the school at Mmamokhasi ward recently.
He said when the country gained independence, it came up with five national principles that guided their progress. Among these principles was democracy by the people for the people, which is still the backbone of the country’s political system.
He said when the country gained independence, there was nothing to write home about as there were no schools, clinics not even roads.
He explained that things had changed even though not everything that was set had been accomplished, adding that Vision 2016 pillars were drafted in 1996.
He said one of the pillars of a compassionate, just and caring nation was what was being portrayed currently by the school by donating to the poor. He said Batswana possess love and empathy in their hearts.
Those lagging behind in their lives he said must be assisted but they should also try their best to help their situation.
Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture District Coordinator Mr Phineas Kgare advised that people need to have personal visions in order to grow individually in-turn growing collectively.
He said if one had a target but hadn’t achieved it, they shouldn’t give up stating that there is no sweet without sweat.
“One has to have self believe no matter the obstacles,” he said. He told parents to encourage their children to join social clubs that will guide them to be the best they can be such as Scouts and Girl Guide as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
He said their ministry supports these clubs financially.
He encouraged Kidz Academy School to continue with their social responsibility and the recipients to work hard and shouldn’t keep their heads down.
He noted that the government is concerned with teenage pregnancy, alcoholism and drug abuse by youth.
Councillor Lebogang Moeti gave thanks on behalf of the recipients and said that blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives.
He said as they want a school in their area, when they finally get one, they will not shy away from benchmarking from Kidz Academy as it produces the best results in the village and is up there with the best in the country.
He told the community to let the spirit of the school build inside them. ENDS
