Molale donates blankets
20 Jul 2016
Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Eric Molale, donated blankets to Tlhareseleele and Ditlharapeng elders during President’s Day holidays.
Mr Molale, also Specially Elected MP, was addressing Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) political rallies.
The intention of the rallies, he said, was to revive BDP committees in the constituency.
He encouraged BDP followers to stand united and work for the party. He said cell, wards, branch and regional committees should be revived so that the party could recapture the Good Hope/Mabule constituency from the opposition parties in the next general elections.
Mr Molale called upon members to set aside jealousy and hypocrisy and fight for the party to regain its dignity in the constituency.
He said during his recent kgotla meetings, some Barolong requested blankets from him, that was why he donated blankets to elders in the community.
He said BDP kept its promises, adding that it never came up with false promises.
Mr Molale said he was touring the villages to show that he was still with them though he lost in the bye-election.
He urged party members to be visible in the area to revive party structures that had collapsed.
He said the President had instructed him and Minister Kitso Mokaila to look after the constituency so that the party could win it in the 2019 general elections, adding they should not leave the peaceful country to fall into deep holes.
Members who joined BDP from BCP this year after the parliamentary bye-election said they were misled and confused by opposition parties.
Mr Pule Letebele said opposition parties failed to unite to topple the ruling BDP except fighting for positions only.
Mr Letebele said they had realised that BDP had a vision and had availed assistance programmes to uplift the lives of Batswana.
For his part,Mr Climate Mmope said Botswana gained independence from Britain 50 years back and the country was poor before discovery of diamonds.
Mr Mmope said the country had programmes such as payment of pensioners, free education as well as agricultural programmes.
Mr Kabo Segwai and others requested forgiveness because they were the ones who voted opposition in Barolong farms.
Another member Mr Kgang Kgang said the ruling BDP was the only party to follow because of its good programmes.
He said opposition parties were misleading Batswana through their empty promises. ENDS
