GCC closes Independence Avenue temporarily

The Gaborone City Council (GCC) has announced that the Independence Avenue road will be temporarily closed from July 14-16.
According to a press from GCC, the road will be closed from the traffic lights opposite the National Museum and Art Gallery, passing in front of the council offices to the traffic lights by Trinity Church on the aforementioned dates.
It says one of the activities for President’s day celebrations is a Fashion show planned for July 15 and the venue is the road passing in front of council offices in the main mall hence the temporary closure.
The release further says the public is requested to use alternative routes. BOPA
