Govt condemns missile testing
12 Jul 2016
The government of Botswana has joined the international community in expressing concern over “the threat to international security posed by the continued testing of ballistic missiles conducted by the North Korean regime, the last occurring on July 9.”
A press release from Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation says the government supports and encourages any measures aimed at the deployment of an advanced missile defence system in that area.
“This would enhance the capability and capacity of the countries of that region to respond to any such threat.
Lastly, the Government of Botswana calls on North Korea to respect international law and comply with United Nations Security Council resolutions in this regard,” says the release. ENDS
