Kanye Administrative Authority BOT50 Independence preparation's publicity committee has encouraged members of the public and community leaders in Kanye to embrace the country's golden jubilee celebrations.

Mr Neo Sealetsa and Mr Keith Keti implored every Motswana to be part of the celebrations to ensure the event gets attendance of the magnitude it deserves, adding celebrations marked Botswana's 50 years of existence as an independent country which denotes that this independence is special.
Mr Keti, who is Kanye Administrative Authority publicity committee convener appealed to the community to propose and come up with innovative ideas on how best to brand and decorate Kanye and its extension areas with national colours as they prepare for the country's golden jubilee celebrations.
He said they should paint Kanye blue, black and white symbolising Botswana colours. He appealed to the community to participate in painting their kgotla with national colours as well as to wear BOT50 merchandise to symbolise that they are proud and united.
He said the country deserves to celebrate because it is a beacon of democracy in the world and economically it has achieved a lot by attaining a middle-income status.
Residents were also urged to showcase cultural activities such as traditional attire and cuisine, dikgafela and modes of transport which were used before independence.
Mr Sealetsa who is KAA publicity committee's technical advisor said preparations are ongoing and at an advanced stage in Kanye and its extension villages.
He concurred with Mr Keti that Kanye should be decorated with Botswana colours to create the ambience and vibe for BOT50.
