Advertisinga awards on cards

The regulatory body for advertising and communications agencies in Botswana, Advertising and Communications Association (ACA) in partnership with Ideas Expo Botswana will next month host its first industry awards.
Briefing the media on Wednesday, Ideas Expo Botswana official, Mr Tumiso Mabusela said the awards would look beyond advertising and touch on all aspects of brand communications and ambient marketing.
Mr Mabusela said the main aim of the awards was to reward innovative work that had broken creative boundaries in the industry, promoted position creativity and innovation as core tools in advertising and communications.
He also said it aimed to celebrate creative excellence in the advertising and communications as well as to create inspiration for both marketers and advertisers to appreciate the value of fresh thinking. He said the awards entry requirements would be focused on work entered by anyone directly involved in the creation and production of the work, which included people directly from the agency or from client’s office.
He said the work entered must be produced and conceptualised by a company registered and operating in Botswana and the work must be produced within the borders of Botswana.
Mr Mabusela said the awards entries were open from May 24 and close on June 17 and must have been produced and flighted for not more than a period of 18 months.
He said the awards will boost of a total of 19 categories across all the touch points of advertising and brand communications and entries will be charged at P250 per entry and free for students. ENDS
