03 Jul 2016
The Office of the President through the President Charity fund has donated chairs and tables to Bana Ba Metsi School.
The school targets young people who have been expelled or dropped out of school due to behavioural problems or other socio economic reasons.
When handing over 60 chairs and 60 tables on behalf of the Office of the President, the assistant district commissioner Mr Thabang Dikatlholo appreciated the continued efforts by the charity fund in helping the school.
He said among others the fund has donated blankets and chairs before noting that through the gesture, OP recognises the school’s determination in mentoring the students.
He thus appealed to the community to support the charity fund to help sustain its gesture of assisting the disadvantaged in the country.
When receiving the donation, the school head Mr Steven Harpt commended the Office of the President and President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama, who is the patron of the school for the assistance.
He said President Khama has shown the love and commitment he has for the school, also by visiting the students every year. He said the chairs will be used in the television room where students relax. ENDS
