MMEWR SADC host workshop on energy and water crisis

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources (MMEWR) will hold a workshop on Energy and Water Crisis in the region in Gaborone on June 20 -21.
A news release from SADC states that the workshop that is the second in a series of three workshops called by the SADC chairperson will be attended by ministers and senior officials from the ministries responsible for energy and water in the SADC member states.
Representatives of national energy and water regulators and utilities, international cooperating partners, SADC energy and water thematic group members, academic research and training institutions, development finance institutions, members of the diplomatic corps and independent power producers will also be in attendance.
The objective of the workshop is to facilitate exchange of ideas and forge practical and sustainable solutions towards the energy and waters crisis in the region. The workshop will be held under the theme ,Accelerating energy delivery and access to water resources in the SADC region – A collective approach”. ENDS
