World Group of companies donates blankets

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Mr Slumber Tsogwane has commended World Group of Companies for the gesture of donating 3 000 blankets to his ministry.
Speaking at the donation ceremony on Tuesday, Minister Tsogwane noted that the move by the World Group of Companies was a testament that they heeded President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama’s appeal of restoring dignity of the less fortunate by making a difference in their lives.
He highlighted that the gesture attested to the fact that indeed one pillars of Vision 2016 of a compassionate just and caring nation was adhered to.
“As government, we are fulfilling the promise that we made to our people that we are committed to serving and caring for our citizenry, especially the valuable groups and welcome every potential partner on board for this very important purpose,” he said.
Mr Tsogwane said the blankets will be distributed to those deserving the assistance to help them better their quality of life especially those who are underprivileged.
He applauded World Group of companies and urged other players in the private sector country wide to emulate the gesture and good will.
The director of World Group of Companies Mr Samuel Mpuchane noted that the donation reaffirmed the solid and strong partnership between government and civil society.
Mr Mpuchane noted that government alone could not adequately provide for the needy and vulnerable hence vital for the involvement of the community to help improve the people’s lives. ENDS
