Comets official denies allegations

Jwaneng Comets' dream to be elevated to the elite premier league went up in smoke after they succumbed to a 4-0 loss to Modipane about a week ago.
Just as they were trying to focus on the play-offs, out came reports that the First Division South club had parted ways with coach Godfrey Tameripi under unpleasant circumstances. Nonetheless, Comets’ public relations officer Kealeboga Ramogobya dismissed such reports as baseless.
“The truth is that we are still processing his paperwork. We have applied for his work permit as well as a waiver in case his 90-day stay in Botswana expires before the work permit is issued,” he explained. He noted that their intention was to give the Zimbabwean national a two-year contract.
He said even though they were focusing on securing a place in the premier league, with time the coach would be expected to take the team to the top positions in the league. Meanwhile, Ramogobya said the team was preparing well for the play-offs.
“At the beginning of the year, we engaged the services of a physical trainer and motivational speaker to prepare the players and we want to do the same again as part of the preparations for the play-offs,” he said. ENDS
