The Dada Foundation this week donated 300 blankets, 10 wheelchairs and four walking frames to the Botswana Red Cross Society (BRCS) to be distributed to the old and less privileged.
Mr Satar Dada, the chairperson of the foundation, said it was their duty to assist the less privileged.
“It is very essential that we take care of the people in our community to address poverty and poor welfare,” he said.
He added that they want to improve the country’s economy and close the gap between the rich and the poor.
Mr Dada noted that over the past 30 years they have reached out to those who were underprivileged and bestowed light into their lives.
He said they managed to build community clinics in Gaborone, Kanye, Molepolole and Kumakwane. He added that the foundation would continue to donate resources to assist defeat any form of hardship.
Mr Dada also revealed that 600 houses have been built under the president’s housing appeal initiative.
Red Cross chief executive officer, Ms Marble Koketso commended the Dada foundation for the gesture. She said it was pleasing that the foundation does not only donate blankets, but also supports improving community health and social development.
She said BRCS was a non profit organisation that depends on donations to support those who were sick and in need.ENDS
