Stanbic Bank donates
08 Jun 2016
Members of the Stanbic Bank human capital team donated school stationery, school bags and toiletries to Therisanyo school pupils in Old Naledi.
A press release from the bank states that the school, which currently has enrolled 756 pupils, has 19 unregistered orphans and 147 unprivileged pupils.
The release states that the support in helping ensures that the welfare, provision of basic needs and education are significant as the school relies on the assistance to run its errands.
The bank wants every child in the community to feel loved and want them to feel dignified by enjoying access to education without worry about having basic needs, hence the donation, states the release.
The release quotes Stanbic Banks Ms Chedza Balopi as having said “we believe even the smallest gesture is well worth it if we could brighten even a single child’s day, and we thank the team at Therisanyo for allowing us to get involved.”
During the occasion, Therisanyo Primary School head Mr Segomotso Kejelepula commended the bank for its generosity and shared the importance of basic needs for pupils.
Mr Kejelepula was quoted as saying “for effective learning and teaching to be achieved, there is a need for stakeholder partnership, as learners were faced with challenges that hinder their performance and at times parents cannot afford to provide their children with the basic needs, especially in our locality.”
According to the release, the school head appreciates the donation from Stanbic Bank as it will have a significant impact on learners. ENDS
