Trio readies for Little Miss Universe

Three young girls will represent the country at the Little Miss Universe billed for Bulgaria June 21- 28.

 The director of Little Miss Universe, Tebogo Lebanna, confirmed on Monday that the girls would be representing Botswana in Europe for the title.

The trio included 14-year-old Tshephang Khan of Phakalane English Medium School, Wedu Sebina (14) of Legae Academy and Lekana Baipoledi (11) from Flowertown School. 

They would leave the country on June 20.

She said the trio will be the only Africans competing with other winners from all over the world and they will be back to Botswana on June 29.

She noted that countries that were to take part in the pageant included Poland, Venezuela, Japan, Philipines, Hungary, Latvia, Kosovo, Albania, Greece, Georgia, Botswana, Russia, Bulgaria, India, Tatastan, Kazackstan, Colombia, USA ,Germany, Czeck Republic, Bosnia, Herzegovina Nerthlands, England, Finland, Brazil, and many more over 85 countries will be battling over the grand crown.

 She said the national pageant was held last year December and three little winners made it to the top and they shall defend the name of the country in Europe.

She noted that she is expecting more from the talented girls as they have been preparing themselves to go represent the country, adding that locals representing the country help sell Botswana Culture to the World.

 The youngest Director has achieved a lot in exposing the young girls into taking part in international pageants and making their dreams come true as recently the youthful leader who has great passion for pageants produced a World Princess in June 2015 in Georgia-Russia, where one of Botswana young girls Wame Baleseng scooped first Princess in The International competition where only three African Countries Botswana, South Africa and Nigeria took part.

Baleseng scooped first Princess out of the 38 contestants who took part lifting Botswana flag high.

 She said she has so much faith in the young girls and she urged parents to allow their children to use their talents and give them support they need for them to have much confidence. ENDS
