Ditlhabi praises teachers

An independent human resource professional from LeadEx Consulting, Mr Bernard Ditlhabi has implored teachers to be fruitful in their work.He added that teaching was regarded as the mother of all professions. 

Speaking during teachers day celebrations at Iphutheng Junior Secondary School recently, he said teachers were the torch bearers of the world since all professional cadres emerged from the hands of a teacher. 

“Therefore, they should stand fast in their profession  with the knowledge that they were moulding the country’s riches,” he said.

He said for the smooth operation of their work, teachers should maintain professionalism in their work, adding that it would ensure that they nurture and develop students who were capable of transforming the world. 

He said through teachers divine, students would  be able to make informed decisions in their lives. Mr Ditlhabi also said teachers should empower themselves by enrolling for various courses to broaden their teaching scope.

He added that they would be in a better position to create knowledgeable generations that would be at par with global changes. “An armed generation would be a force to be reckoned with, as they would be able to compete appropriately across the entire global markets,” he said.  

He also said teachers should include in their teaching curriculum modules that would produce a productive and innovative workforce that would tap into other available opportunities to advance the country’s economic status.

He further urged teachers to embrace teachers’ day as an introspection instrument to assess their operations strongholds and setbacks. 

He said they should hold on to their competetive advantage  in order to bring success and to turn around their setbacks and turn them into opportunities. Moreover, he urged them to leave a long lasting teaching legacy in their district. 

Earlier in his welcome remarks, Kgosi Botiki Motshegare praised teachers for living the vision of a compassionate, just and caring nation by reaching out to the less privileged in their communities. 

He said through their social responsibility project, it was a clear indication that they care about people’s lives. Kgosi Motshegare also said despite the fact that teachers were facing challenges, he encouraged them not to derail from their mandate of empowering students with education. 

The day was celebrated under the theme Teacher: A change agent for globally competitive human resource and economic diversification. ENDS
