Chinese institute donates to needy

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Francistown recently donated hundred blankets and pillows to assist the old and the needy during this winter season.
The gesture which was made through the office of the Member of Parliament for Francistown West, Mr Ignatius Moswaane also consisted of two computers and a printer.
When giving an overview of the importance of Botswana-China relationship, the chairperson of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Francistown, Mr Weng YongBiao said the relationship was built on trust and mutual benefit.
He said Batswana were friendly people noting that during his stay, he has always been treated with kindness and warm reception.
“As a sign of our strong friendship, we are donating hundred blankets and pillows. We are also giving two computers and a printer to the MPs private office, the Monarch Community Development Center to continue assisting more Batswana in accessing government programmes,” Mr YongBiao said.
Mr YongBiao stated that Botswana and China shared strong bilateral relations, which date back to the early 70s the more reason why they as the Chinese are always eager to support the development and upliftment of Batswana.
Vice Chairperson of the chamber in Francistown, Mr Xia Qiwang noted that as the Chinese business community in Francistown, they managed to raise P30 000 for their donation efforts.
Giving a vote of thanks, Mr Moswaane thanked the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Francistown for their generosity to his electorates.
He noted that the leadership of Botswana valued the relationship that exists between Botswana and China as it has always proved to be beneficial.
“I therefore urge all Batswana to support our Chinese friends in their businesses and any other interests as they have made buying of quality goods much cheaper for Batswana,” Mr Moswaane said. ENDS
