Rentse foundation in partnership with Mr Dico Bardenhost handed over a house to an orphaned family in Mogapinyana over the weekend.
Handing over the house to the family, Mr Bardenhost who is the manager of Filtration Africa said he was approached by Ms Kentse Maganu of Rentse Foundation to help in building a three bed-roomed house for an orphaned family in Mogapinyana.
He said he agreed to Ms Maganu’s request as he saw it very important to give back to the community.
He said he first came to this country in 2004 from the United States of America and started establishing his business, which now has three successful branches.
He said if it was not for Batswana support for his business, he would not have been as successful as he is, hence he saw it necessary to give back to the community that has been supporting his business.
He urged Mogapinyana community to change the way they think about themselves and think positively, adding that this has worked for him too.
Receiving the house on behalf of the family, assistant council secretary, Mr Goloswang Ramogala thanked Rentse foundation and Mr Bardenhost for constructing the house for Kelaetse family. He said the house would give the family a dignified life as shelter is a basic need.
He said that should be a lesson to Mogapinyana community to share the little that they had with less privileged members of their respective communities.
He said Rentse foundation and Mr Bardenhost efforts to construct a house for the family does not mean that they had a lot of money, but they had the passion to help other members of the community.
He said giving was also encouraged in the Bible particularly that Mogapinyana is a Christian community.
“The little that you have given is bigger in the eyes of God,” he said.
He further urged the community to unite and work together as one, adding that unity encourages the spirit if self-reliance.
He said if all communities in the country were self-reliant, government would not have a mammoth task of eradicating poverty.
Rentse foundation also donated 10 school tracksuits and clothes for the orphaned and vulnerable children.
Ms Maganu also thanked Mr Bardenhost for giving her support to make the project a success.
She said it was very important to give back to the community. ENDS
