Though financially constrained, Mogobane based support group, Phala E Senang Phalana is walking towards its purposes.

The support group, which was officially registered in 2013 to provide care and support for the elderlies in Mogobane, will be officially launched recently in Mogobane.

In an interview, Phala E Senang Phalana director, Ms Tsholofelo Letshoo said despite their financial limitations, they were committed to serving the elderly community.

She said already, over 120 elderlies had registered with the support group and added that the number was low considering that there were over 200 elders in the village.

Ms Letshoo said their reception had been positive from the villagers among them bogosi, political leadership and the residents.

Due to the absence of a structure, she said Phala E Senang Phalana representatives moves around the village giving care and support to the elders and added that their plan was to have a centre where they could care for elders on a daily basis.

She said during their village tours, they helped to feed elders and made sure that they had taken their medications and keep their company.

However, she said they were raising funds to support the running of the support group and further appealed to good samaritans to help the non-profitable organisation which stood for a good cause.ENDS
