Blessed is the hand that gives and giving is an act of worshiping God.

These are the words which were said by the founder of Barorisi Gospel Group, Ms Mpopi Mokgware during the handing over of food parcels to the less privileged and the needy in Metsimotlhabe recently.

Ms Mokgware hinted that giving was  important and it was a way of expressing love. 

She said people should not only give when it wa convenient but even when it was not.  She also encouraged people to give without expectations. 

She said giving should be done generously and she encouraged those who attended the occasion to emulate President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama through his acts of giving. 

She said at Barorisi Gospel Group, it was their mandate to give to those who were in need and said they occasionally host charitable events to raise funds for the needy, less privileged, the elderly and orphans in society. 

She said they handed out food parcels to identified families and wished to do that on a monthly basis and special days such as Christmas day around the country.

She implored young people to give and work together in helping the needy, less privileged and people living with disabilities as this will greatly help in preaching the Vision 2016 pillar of  ‘A compassionate, just and caring nation,’ and added that the government could not do the work alone.

Ms Mokgware said they will continue reaching out to people in other areas around the country by offering a helping hand without expectations from those who they will be giving to. 

Ms Mokgware also noted that 2016 is a great year for the group as they will be celebrating their 16th anniversary in November and they aim to celebrate their anniversary with the elderly, the needy and the orphans in society and continue to reach many Batswana through the many charitable works they will be undertaking.

One of the recipients of the food parcels, the Zulu family said they were grateful and appreciate what the group has done for them. 

The family also encouraged the youthful Barorisi Gospel Group to continue setting a good example to the other youths across the country by helping those in need.  ENDS
