Stakeholders have been urged to work together in combating challenges faced by students such as drug and alcohol abuse in order to produce excellent results.
David and Dorcus Magang Trust representative, Ms Malebogo Bakwena, said this during an award ceremony at Ikageng Junior Secondary School in Metsimotlhabe.
The school received a floating trophy and P5 000 from the David and Magang Trust after their 35 per cent merit pass, which earned them position four in Kweneng District in their Junior Certificate examinations in 2015.
Ms Bakwena said the purpose of the trophy was to motivate schools to produce good results. She said the trophy was given to a school with the best results of grade A-B.
Ms Bakwena said to achieve the best results, it was important for parents, teachers and students to have a good working relationship as it could help in addressing strudents’ challenges.
She advised students to be responsible and keep away from drugs and alcohol abuse and any negative behavior that could destroy their future.
The school head, Mrs Kelebogile Mokete, urged students to sow the spirit of excellence. She noted that regardless of the challenges the school faced, they stayed motivated and turned their challenges into blessings.
Mrs Mokete gave parents a pat on the shoulder because they did not fail in honouring their parents and teachers association meetings.
