Familiarise yourselves with Presidential Pledge Card- PSP
02 Jun 2016
Public officers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the Presidential Pledge Card and work tirelessly to deliver to the nation.
A letter from PSP to all employees states that President Lt Gen. Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama in 2014 introduced as Presidential Pledge Card key five year roadmap for the government of the day to deliver to Batswana and the public at large.
The five priority areas are to;
• Make job creation priority number 1
• Take Batswana out of poverty
• Increase education funding
• Eliminate mother-to child transmission of HIV
• Fight corruption in all its manifestations
The letter further states that it is almost two years since this commitment was made.
“I am happy to report that some strides have been made to ensure optimum delivery of the pledge. Your respective ministries continue to demonstrate that indeed we are in the right direction,” states the letter.
It says the Ministry of Health as an example, has seen a growth of 97 per cent uptake of Anti-Retroviral Treatment in 2015 from 94.7 per cent in 2014.
It further states that all 564 clinics and health posts in the country dispense ARVs, excluding Broadhurst Clinic I, which is currently under renovation.
“This links directly to the Pledge Card commitment on the elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV,” states the letter.
PSP further states that next quarterly letter to all public officers will give an overview of actual progress to-date with regard all the priority areas on the pledge. Ends
