Sign only for full basket

31 May 2016

Food basket beneficiaries should only sign when they receive complete or full package of their rations, principal assistant district officer at Letlhakane, Mr Bahiti Keiphokotse has advised.

Mr Keiphokotse hopes that declining to sign for incomplete food rations could halt the tendency by some food basket suppliers who are supplying rations in piecemeal.
He explained that if beneficiaries sign for incomplete food basket, the supplier will be paid as their signature indorsed payment processes.

Mr Keiphokotse stated that the agreement was that the supplier should provide full basket, not piecemeal.
He was responding to a resident Ms Keitshephile Mosarwe's concern during kgotla meeting addressed by Member of Parliament for Boteti east, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe at Mmea on Monday.

Ms Mosarwe had earlier complained that some food basket suppliers in her village have a tendency of supplying food ration in piecemeal and the rations deficit subsequent to this tendency were never compensated.

Mr Lelatisitswe said though the latter advice make sense at times it will be difficult for beneficiaries  to decline to sign with the fear that the supplier may go back with the rations subjecting them to starving.
Also, the legislator cautioned public employees who ignore affirmative action programme procedures saying that they risked to be sacked saying that some had been dismissed for ignoring such procedures. Ends
