SADC DFRC opens new office

The Minister of Finance and Development Planning, Mr Kenneth Matambo, will officially open the new office of the SADC Development Finance Resource Centre (DFRC) in Gaborone on June 8.
A press release from the ministry says since its establishment in 2003, the institution was housed at BIFM Fairgrounds Office park, but recently acquired part of seventh Floor at Zambezi Towers.
It says this move has not only increased the asset base of the network, but has also significantly contributed to conducive environment for both the clientele and staff of the DFRC.
The release says DFRC is a subsidiary institution of SADC, owned by 36 national development finance institutions in the SADC region and is mandated to provide support to development of finance and related institutions through capacity building, policy research and advisory services, especially with respect to SME development infrastructure and PPP.
It says in Botswana membership comprises of seven DFIs, including BDC, BITC, LEA, BSB, NDB, the Norsad Finance, BHC, and CEDA.
It further says the launch will be attended by senior government officials, chief executives of development finance Institutions from SADC countries, members of the diplomatic corps in Botswana, international cooperating partners and executives in the private sector.
The launch has been planned to coincide with the biannual meetings of SADC DFI Network scheduled forJune 9-10. Ends
