Councillor in stolen stock produce probe
26 May 2016
Central Police in Francistown are investigating a case in which eight young men were found in possession of suspected stolen stock produce at Donga location and arrested.
Station Commander, Superintendent Lebalang Maniki in an interview with BOPA on Wednesday said five of these young men reside in Donga, one in Natale village, one in Block 8 and the other in Somerset location.
He said one of the suspects was a councillor from Shashe West who was also detained to assist the police with investigations.
Supt Maniki further said that they were looking for the owner of the beast. If they could be able to identify him or her, the matter would be changed to be a stock theft case.
He said this was the second such case recorded in his policing area since the beginning of the year and pleaded with the people to stop buying stolen goods and help police fight crime. ENDS
