Rock music lovers will throng Ghanzi this weekend for the annual Overthrust Winter Metal Mania Rock Festival.

The event, which started in 2010, would attract groups such as Rokara, PMMA, Remuda, Dust N Fire Evegreen, Nodd, Barren Barrel Raven in Flesh, Synader, Skeletal Saints, Adorned in Flesh and Overthrust.

The rockers would be a showstopper in Ghanzi given their regalia and the energy they often display when they walk.

Tshomarelo Mosaka of Overthrust Death Metal group said the event was not only a get together for rock lovers, but a humanitarian gesture for the less fortunate in Ghanzi.

Mosaka, well known as Vulture, who is the main organiser said they hade liaised with the relevant authorities to identity possible beneficiaries from the event adding that last year they donated about P3 000 worth of clothing to a resident.

He said the event was steadily becoming popular as rock lovers always looked forward to the event.

Events for the day will also be characterised by rock attire fashion parade, arm wrestling, motorbike display and a march and ride against poverty. 

He encouraged those attending the show to bring food items, clothing and anything that they feel could be of benefit to the less fortunate in the society. ENDS
