Signed International season 2 underway

Season 2 of a reality television show dubbed the Signed International’s auditions will commence from May 27 to July 1.

Speaking at the show’s launch   on Saturday, registrar general of companies and intellectual property authority (CIPA), Conductor Masena said trough the levy on technical devices fund project, they aimed at unearthing talent through the 26 episode show.

“It is indeed a welcome development which will give the youth an opportunity to show case their talent and start a professional acting career,” he said.

He said CIPA sought to promote creativity and innovativeness by providing an opportunity for creators and authors of copyright protected works to apply for funds under the Levy on Technical Devices Fund project.

“We believe the fund has immense potential to contribute towards development of the creative industry and the economy of Botswana as evidenced by the diversity of funded projects,” he added.

Meanwhile the Minister of Youth Sports and Culture, Thapelo Olopeng, expressed his excitement that artists of Botswana has vast amount of talent as evidenced by some of the artist who has managed to live their acting dreams by appearing in South Africa’ s popular soapies such as Scandal.

Olopeng said the Signed International season one managed to break into the international market after securing licence deal with star times and our own talent stories and culture will be shown in 23 African countries.

He said after seeing the amount of talent in Botswana the ministry advocated for the launch of another television channel as an entertainment channel specifically for artists and young people of this country. ENDS
