Fashion trends hits Francistown
19 May 2016
Most women have this undying craving of dressing up according to the on-going fashion trends.
Fashion trends, which change almost every fortnight, are endearingly followed by the women segment of society and a million Pula question still remains unanswered about where these “fashion trends” exactly start from.
Since most ladies pick up the trends by watching their friends and peers, the exact source of the fashion trends gets lost somewhere down the lane.
The fashion trends actually start from the runways of London, Paris and New York, where world renowned fashion houses set the mark.
It is in the ramps of these renowned fashion events that head starts the so called “Latest Fashion Trend” fever throughout the world.
Designers persistently keep renovating the fashion styles and come up with varied designs every now and then and so does the trends in fashion markets too and these have not excluded Botswana as the country has been seemingly been bit by the bug.
In their effort to re-define winter fashion trends, the duo of Rebaone Tshetlho and Tshireletso Kamakama will on the 23rd of July host the Miss Winter 2016 in Francistown in what they termed as ‘The biggest winter fashion show in the North of Botswana.”
The two best friends, who are both 22 years of age, have confessed to being style addicts and models in their own rights.
“Sometimes getting dressed is hard. Whether you have a packed-to-capacity closet, or take a more minimalist approach when it comes to fashion, there is no denying that occasionally we all get what we like to call ‘dresser’s block,’ which is equivalent of a writer’s block,” said Tshetlho.
She said getting stuck when it comes to building the perfect outfit often has less to do with not having the right items, and more to do with knowing how to put them together.
“For this show, we plan to showcase the simple way in which someone can look fashionable with whatever clothes they have. We will also teach people how to dress appropriately for winter despite the chill temperatures,” she added.
She cited that they all probably own staples like a sleeveless dress and a black turtleneck, but they all might not think to pair them up.
“In fact, it is a safe bet that we all have stuff sitting in our closets right this second that could be worn in dozens of unexpectedly stylish way. All we are missing is a small dose of inspiration and our fashion show’s primary mission would be to evoke such inspirations,” noted Kamakama.
She advised all aspiring models willing to participate at their up-coming fashion show to contact them at their Miss Winter 2016 Francistown Facebook page. ENDS
