Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP), Mr Carter Morupisi has commended nurses for their dedication to service . He was addressing the nurses on the International Nurses Day.The day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.
“As the world commemorates international nurses, I take this opportunity to commend all nurses across the various government health centres for their immense contribution to the delivery of the Government mandate, in ensuring provision of better healthcare service to the public,” Mr Morupisi said in his message to nurses.
He said the commemoration should compel nurses working in the public service to always strive to serve their customers diligently and with the highest level of professionalism as embedded in the 10 Point Agenda.
As part of this year’s Public Service Day commemoration, which would focus on celebrating contribution of all public officers; past and present, Mr Morupisi encouraged the public to submit names of public officers who had gone an extra mile in their line of duty.
“It is indeed pleasing to note that most of the feedback received so far is in appreciation of health professionals from across the country. Well done to you all. I would like to specially commend Nkoyaphiri Clinic in Mogoditshane for great customer experiences as shared by the public, particularly the team responsible for anti-retroviral treatment; your customers speak very highly of you. Keep up the good work. It is my hope that others across the entire government will emulate you,” he said.
Furthermore, Mr Morupisi implored the entire health fraternity not to be complacent and keep working hard in the delivery of their mandate, saying “together we can make a difference in the delivery of our mandate. Happy Nurses Day!”.ENDS
