Bible society serves all churches

Bible Society Botswana serves all churches and the nation with
Mr Boss Tsheko, a Bible Society representative, said this at the Kanye Minister’s Fraternal advisory committee for Botswana Christian AIDS Intervention Programme (BOCAIP) workshop in Kanye.
Mr Tsheko stated that the mandate of the society was to make the word of God available in different languages.
He said they supported the church initiative of moral education by availing Bibles.
Mr Tsheko said the scripture engagement programme sought to cover trauma, healing and HIV/AIDS.
Southern District AIDS coordinator, Ms Basadibotlhe Lebogang, said the presence of churches impacted on good guidance and advisory to the community.
The church existed to promote the widest possible effective distribution of the holy words.
She said the church was the backbone of bringing peace among the communities.
Ms Lebogang said most of Batswana were church goers that’s why the country was still at peace.
Ms Lebogang indicated that the church needed to raise awareness and work towards fighting HIV/AIDS.
She said in future, the responses to national issues required churches to deliver in good faith.
She said pastors were voluntarily praying and giving love to the community through God’s word.
She stated that the church mould the nation and families that were falling apart.
She encouraged churches to register their churches, adding that mushrooming of unregistered churches was a concern.
She appealed to them to consider holding the month of prayers.
The new Kanye committee that was elected included Mr Gabatlhae Maswabi as chairman and Mr Lesego Motsumo his vice.
The secretary, Ms Tlamelo Mabote and her deputy is Mr Keone Simane, Ms Tshadi Mpudi Treasurer while additional members are Mr Daniel Sennanyana, Ms Gouta Chere, Peloyame Bafetanye and Ms Dipuo Soriletsile. ENDS
