Mosetlha Junior Secondary School head, Ms Zibanani Legwaila, says team building exercises improve productivity.
She said this in an interview following a team building exercise of Mosetlha JSS in Zanzibar over the weekend.
Ms Legwaila said the aim of the exercise was to promote honesty, support, cooperation, trust and team work among teachers and non-teaching staff.
She said the staff was divided into two teams in which they competed in several games and tasks such as beach volleyball, football and aerobics.
Ms Legwaila said these games  freshened the minds of the employees making them work as a unit to deliver at their level best.
She said the exercise would motivate teachers to work hard as a team to make students achieve best results whereas non-teaching staff would also do their best in the school’s support system.
Ms Legwaila said her school did a team building exercises on yearly basis and the exercise was bearing fruit as productivity improved after every team building exercise.
She appealed to Mosetlha teachers and non-teaching staff to continue the good work as a team.
“I urge other schools, private sector and government departments to do team building exercises to improve productivity in their respective working destinations,” she said.
One of the teachers who participated in the exercise, Mr Innocent Julius said this was an important exercise aimed at improving team work, cooperation and support with other school employees. ENDS
