Competitions help reveal talent among public servants.
Southern District performance improvement officer, Mr Balume Bulayane, said during the district’s choir competitions in Kanye recently that competitions were opportunities to showcase talent.
He noted that Good Hope Sub-district displayed a splendid performance to take position one in all categories; choral music, poetry and traditional dance and Kanye Administrative Authority made their presence felt by scooping position one in dikhwaere.
Mr Bulayane said the mandate of choir competitions was to promote the spirit of team work throughout the southern region and the country at large.
He said they also helped public workers showcase different abilities as well as appreciate the diverse cultures of Botswana.
Good Hope Sub-district’s choir conductor, Mr George Wantwa applauded his choir for its magnificent performance.
Mr Wantwa urged the choir to work hard for the next competitions, warning that they were going to meet the best.
He said the competition helped revive culture, which was fading due to the fact that Batswana were fond of borrowing from western cultures.
The competitions, he said, also created an interaction point for public servants, thus bringing the nation together in making Batswana a proud and united nation. ENDS
